![]() A second player can control this copy and can do everything Tama can except revive or summon monsters. If there is a second controller connected, and the Flask of the Homunculus is equipped, Tama can create a copy of herself. During gameplay, Tama will acquire an item called Flask of the Homunculus. Some weapons will have an area of effect and cause more damage. Different weapons have distinct attributes, such as reach, combos, and area effects. The weapons available to Tama include swords, spears, axes, bows, and magic. When the player presses the assigned button, they will use the item. Monsters, relics, weapons, and objects will take one of the four slots available when equipped, and players assign them to a button. The player can also equip objects and relics that boost Tama’s attributes and stats. The game allows Tama to revive defeated enemies and force them to fight alongside her using the forbidden powers of the Sword of the Necromancer. The player must equip weapons and relics, assemble an army of monsters, and level up to confront the guardians that stand in her way. Tama will take on the dungeon, including the dangers that lurk in its shadows, to gain the forbidden power of necromancy. The priestess dies during their quest, and Tama, filled with despair, decides to carry her corpse to the Necromancer’s crypt, where she may be able to call upon a power that could resurrect the dead. In the game, Tama is a one-time former rogue charged with accompanying the priestess Koko on her pilgrimage through the continent. Sword of the Necromancer asks the player what they would do to bring back someone they love. The Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign will run through May 8, 2020. Both companies are based out of Spain and plan to release the game both digitally and physically to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The dungeon-crawler action RPG with Rogue-like elements is being developed by Grimorio of Games and produced and published by JanduSoft S.L. We have several surprises for the two-player mode, we can assure you the difference in the resurrection mechanic (which would be the only one! In every other way the players are exactly the same and can do the same things) doesn’t make this mode any less fun.The Sword of the Necromancer Kickstarter has launched today. We have showcased the game at several shows and fairs, and it’s true that this is a concern most players express early, but once they start playing in the two player mode they quickly forget about it and start working together and having fun, each one specializing in different types of combat (one with summons, the other more head-to-head). I hope you can understand better our reasons for not letting the “Homunculus” player summon monsters. Lore-wise, the second player is a summon (a “clone” created using an item), and also there is only one Sword of the Necromancer so it would not make sense that the summon has it too (this is the weakest reason, but is also an important one to mantain coherence in the game’s story). We cannot make the game harder in the 2 player mode by making the enemies harder, as those enemies can later be used as summons, so it would ironically make the game easier. Having an arbitrary limit (for example, just let each player summon one monster, or having 3 monsters tops at the same time regardless of who summoned them) would be too convoluted to understand quickly for the players and would make it frustrating. ![]() Second player already makes the game much easier, having 6 monsters at the same time (3 per player) would make it even easier to a point the game wouldn’t be fun (you could just summon 6 monsters and let them do the work for you) The second player (“Homunculus”) can’t summon monsters for several reasons, the most important being game balance.
